About SAT - Scholastic Aptitude Test
 

SAT - Scholastic Aptitude Test is required by most of the colleges for undergraduate admissions. This test is by Educational Testing Service, Princeton New Jersey.

SAT scores form an important criterion to assess the eligibility of the students for admissions as well as for scholarships and other financial aids.

 
Eligibility Criteria
 

The minimum qualifications require that the candidate complete 10+2 and attain a minimum 50% mark in class XII. In addition, the student needs to clear two exams, first the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and second, the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).

Class XI Students: This is the best time to prepare for the SAT and TOEFL. You are encouraged to spend 4 to 6 months in your preparation and take the SAT and TOEFL when you finish class XI. Then you can apply to colleges when you start class XII.

Class XII Students: If you are already in class XII, you should take the SAT before December end. You should begin preparing for the SAT as soon as possible. Typically it takes at least 2 to 3 months to complete the preparation. Also, you need to give 1 to 2 months for preparing and sending your applications.
